There’s quite a buzz going on with electronic dance music lately, and there’s a lot going this TNO. We highly recommend you check out as much as possible, including our wonderful little party in Troy. Troy folk, check out Albany early and end your night here. For the rest of you, start here and end wherever. Or just stay here the whole time, as Jenkins is ending the night. He might not play house, but he’ll end it right. We’ve got Properly Chilled for the middle slot, so expect dance-o-mania in that department. And starting things off is a new combo of McGillicuddy and Back from Japan. We’re still waiting to hear what they have planned, but expect madness and/or Kiwi Politics. Very serious stuff.

Finally we have some decent weather for the patio at Daisy’s, and just to be great we decided to cool down the weather for TNO. I can see it now, cool summer breezes, cocktails, and all the beats you can shake an ass to.

To complement the weather, we’re bringing back an old favorite of ours who hasn’t played in quite some time, mr. Billy (Tiberius) Bob. Let’s do some more visualizing, OK? OK. You’re on the dancefloor, Billy Bob is blowing it up–you can barely handle it–and boom, his set is over. “What now?” you ask frantically. Suddenly, a shining glimmer of light in the distance; it’s Ryan Kick. Saved. Feel that? The power of the imagination. “But wait Mr. Afterparty,” you say, “I need to build up to dancefloor heat like that.” And we agree, so we got Back from Japan to start it off. Someone told me you should buy him a shot.

Springtime! Finally we can start taking advantage of the sidewalk seating at Daisy’s… when you’re not on the dancefloor, of course. And dance you will this month.

Longtime regular Ryan Kick will be teaming up with partner Brian Anderson as “Hustle & Flow,” appearing in Troy for the first time! With releases on labels like Kolour and Greenhouse, they keep it going louder. Get there early for Properly Chilled, always on point with that song you’ve been dying to hear but just didn’t know it. And finishing it off is Goodship’s own Jenks, laying down the dirty beats to finish the night off right and heavy.

Another month into the future, so far so good. This month we’ve got what the business school type’s call a “hockey stick curve” of freak-out. As always, we’ll start it up easy to allow for some fine dining, but we can’t guarantee you’ll stay in your seat. To be honest, it’s probably easier to just head downstairs to Bacchus for $5 Pizza Margherita until midnight… Keeps the energy up for the dancefloor.

The TNO Afterparty Returns! January 29, 2010 @ Daisy Baker’s

We’re back! Since we’re now in the future (it is 2010, after all), we’ve decided to switch up a few things we do around here. First, we’re sticking with Daisy Baker’s each month. Second, it will always be free. Third, dance music all night, every night. We’ve put together a crew of Troy’s best DJ’s, so the dancefloor is always on.
